Gracie and I were given the Eat To Win Game play almost a month ago. We have FINALLY gotten the chance to play it. It’s been a long, hard, rough month. I had a run in with the flu that lasted about 6 days. The state tournament was held at school and I subbed all that week (we took 2nd-Go Greyhounds). My Mother in law had rotator cuff surgery. On top of all of this, spring ball has started and we are staying at Marmaduke until after 7 on Mondays (and Thursday this week). I can’t seem to catch up, I get one thing settled, and another thing happens, such is life!
We were finally able to play the game last night. Gracie didn’t have any homework and she didn’t have any ball practice. So, we could have a little bit of fun and this game is really fun. It really wears you out too. I planned on having this review and giveaway up last night after we played it but it kind of kicked me in the behind. I’m out of shape, blah!
This is not a normal board game. You will go around the board, but you won’t sit still long! If you happen to land on the Eat It spaces you have to answer the question correctly or pay money to the bank. If you get it right, you get money from the bank and get to put a food token in the center of the board. If you land on a challenge space, you answer a question about food nutrition and if you do it correctly you receive money plus the person who asked the question receives money too. If you answer wrong, only the person who ask the question gets the money. The Do It spaces are what did me in. When you land on these spaces, you have to get up and do what it says or pay the Lazy fine of $200. The Do It Challenge might be Run in place while singing Old MacDonald Had A Farm, Pretend to Twirl A Hula Hoop 5 Times around, Pretend You Are A Fish And Swim Around The Room Or many others! I’ll admit, by the end, I PAID the lazy fine a couple of times and you guys know that I am cheap and would never pay a fine unless I just had to.
This game is SO fun. I really mean it. I think that you would really enjoy it if you gave it chance and you and your family would unknowingly learn so much about nutrition. You’ll learn about calorie counts the fun way, learn what are veggies and what are fruits. You’ll also have some great family time. What else could you ask for! We really had a blast. Gracie is having company over this weekend and I bet they play this game while she is over.
